Grade B Madagascar vanilla beans are known for their rich and deep vanilla flavor and creamy texture, making them a popular choice for use in vanilla extracts. Our Grade B Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans are between 5″ and 7″ inches long and have a dark brown color.
Although it is commonly believed that Grade A vanilla beans are of higher quality than Grade B beans, this is not entirely the case. Grade B vanilla beans are generally drier and more brittle than Grade A beans, but they can be more concentrated in vanillin due to the low moisture content. It is important to note that both grades of vanilla beans can be used to make high-quality vanilla products and the choice between Grade A and Grade B beans depends on the intended use and personal preference.
Since Grade B vanilla beans are brittle and cannot be cut open to extract the seeds like the Grade A beans., they can be broken into smaller pieces and ground as vanilla powder or used whole for vanilla extracts or brewing. Despite their dryness, these beans still contain the same essential oils that will produce a sweet and flavorful Madagascar bourbon vanilla extract at a lower cost.
Spice Bay Foods’ Grade B vanilla beans are a favorite among professional chefs and are used in top restaurants worldwide. The vanilla beans are shipped vacuum sealed and should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.
